3rd Annual Golf With Your Boss Golf Outing
Date: July, 14 2008 • Time: 03:00 pm
Location: Klinger Lake Golf Course
This event is sponsored by the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals. Registration begins at 3pm with Tee-Off at 4pm. 9 holes of golf. Cost is $30 per person or $50 for a 2 person team. Social Hour to follow the golfing -- stay tuned for details on the after-party. Lots of prizes will be given away! Meet the Candidates -- Prosecutor, Drain Commissioner & Register of Deeds

The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Republican Party will host a "Meet the Candidates Forum". Get a chance to meet the candidates running for Prosecutor, Drain Commissioner and Register of Deeds. There will be debate between the candidates with questions being asked by a moderator.
Meet the Candidates--Sheriff

Location: Nora Hagen Theater @ Glen Oaks Community College
The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce will host a "Meet the Candidates Forum". Get a chance to meet the candidates running for Sheriff in St. Joseph County. There will be a debate between the candidates with questions being asked by moderator, Mike Stiles. Audience members will have a chance to ask questions, but questions will be screened prior to being given to the moderator.
Meet the Candidates--State Representative

Location: Nora Hagen Theater @ Glen Oaks Community College
The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a "Meet the Candidates Forum". Get a chance to meet the candidates running for State Representative in St. Joseph County. Questions will be asked by moderator, Bruce Snook. The audience will be able to submit questions. Questions will then be screened and given to the moderator.
Chamber Early Bird Breakfast
Date: July, 31 2008 • Time: 07:30 am - 09:00 am
Location: Sturges-Young Auditorium
Calling all chamber members...You must attend this breakfast to hear an informative message from Dr. Gary Wheeler, President of Glen Oaks, and to also hear about an exciting opportunity for all employers who have 55 employees or less. This includes all businesses -- retailers, professional services, manufacturing and any business that might not fit into those categories. Glen Oaks recently received a grant from the Department of Labor and Economic Growth. This grank allows them to offer FREE training for local small businesses in the soft-skill areas. Topics may include, but are not limited to: customer service, time management, communication, change management, critical thinking, team building, problem solving, project management, motivating employees, decision making, diversity in the workplace and successful leadership.
Classes are planned to start toward the end of August with a detailed schedule to be published by the time of the Breakfast. Don't miss the chance to hear Dr. Wheeler deliver some unique facts about our local community college and for more details regarding free training for your business.

Harley-Davidson Raffle

Location: Hamilton's Harley Davidson, Sturgis
The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce is giving away a 2008 Harley Davidson, 105th Anniversary Edition Heritage Softail Classic. 2nd prize is $500 cash and 3rd prize is $250 cash. Tickets are $100 each...this includes admission for 2 to the party including food. There will be a cash bar so you must be 21 to enter. Tickets on sale now and are available at the Chamber, Hamilton's and from any Chamber Board Member. The bike will be on display at various businesses and during Ribs on the Runway.
